ADVENTURES IN BABYSITTING PART DEUX

My second babysitting experience happened last week following my late Christmas present of an SB600 Nikon Flash :) Still experimenting with Photoshop to see what I kind of style I like best. When I see other photographers pictures I am always drawn to the more 70's vintage type style but then I try out my own actions and I am never sure if I like that way or the original better. Regardless here are a few vintage shots of Chase, the middle is my personal fave called "Get Faded"

LUNCH TIME IN CALGARY

As the Chinook rolled through Calgary I decided to head out at lunch with my camera and take a few shots. I am getting a little sick of nature shots but def. not comfortable enough to ask total strangers on the street to pose for me so you will all have to settle for a bunch of back of the head shots. I was playing with aperture and I am pleased with how sharp my subjects turned out, even as they were running by me I still froze the motion. Its amazing how many people go out running on their lunch breaks, very inspiring.

This last shot was with the Lensbaby. I have been on & off about whether or not I really like this lens but today the light was right and I could freeze the motion and the picture actually turned out fairly crisp. Score for me!

CRAVING THE SUMMER

Crystal Crescent Beach, originally uploaded by kohsberg.

Its been a chilly January so far in Calgay and the dreams of beaches are happening more frequently than my bank account could handle. With no plans of a tropical vacation anytime soon I figure I will have to make due with pictures from the summer while I was home in the Maritimes. Crystal Crescent Beach is a goregous white sandy beach not too far away from Halifax and my sister, Dad and myself had a great time exploring the different inlets, minus the furthest nudist section!! Enjoy and try to picture warmer weather
