STRIDE BABY BUMP

The Strides (Tina, Chris & Dakota the dog) and I headed out to Nosehill Park on the first evening of summer. It was a gorgeous night but the mosquitoes were fierce and bug spray was no match for the swarms. Despite the bugs Tina and Chris were great sports and I was soo excited about the gorgeous light and setting. What a cute couple they make! I first met Tina when we were both taking the intro to photography course at SAIT almost two years ago now and it seems a lot has changed since then! Tina started up her own business, Stride Photography, and is now having her first baby.

I love this picture duo that shows off Tina's gorgeous blue eyes and also her teeny little baby bump!

This light was just do die for, I am in love with the evening haze.

Tina and Chris will be welcoming their baby girl at the end of July and I cant wait to meet her. Congrats guys and all the best!

ANTICIPATION

I don't usually like indoor pictures but the weather hadn't exactly been cooperating in this so called spring so we stayed inside Ryan & Denise's house instead. We took advantage of a big plain wall to get this awesome shots. Aren't they just the cutest parents-to-be?

I just cannot get over how fantastic and tiny Denise has stayed throughout her whole pregnancy, definitely one of those woman other Mom's are completely jealous of!

My favorite shot of the day, such a special moment before their little family of two becomes three (plus their fur baby) .

I lied, this is actually in a tie for my favorite shot. I just love the excitement and joy in Ryan's face.

I brought my assistant (aka Roman) to this shoot and strapped him on in a front carrier. He was quite content to come along for the ride but the stairs shots were tricky as he didn't like the bending over. I think it was worth the fussing though.

Maverick was showing the baby belly some love, I wonder what he will make of the newest addition to the Torris family!

TORRIS BUN IN THE OVEN

Can you believe that Denise is 37 weeks pregnant in these pictures? Wow just a teeny tiny bump on this beautiful yoga instructor.

Ryan & Denise are keeping the gender a surprise but my bet is on girl. Either way I cant wait to meet the little munchkin!

Ryan & Denise are huge flames fans so of course we had to show off the adorable little Flames booties, maybe they will bring luck next season ;)

Stay tuned, more pictures to come soon with the proud Dad!

BRITTANYS BABY BUMP

Baby bumps galore in Calgary these days, everywhere you look someone is having a baby. Brittany and I met at yoga teacher training and at 37 weeks, when we took these shots, Brittany still looks as fantastic. Yoga does a body good!

After doing some indoor shots we went outdoors to get some air and enjoy the Calgary sunset. I love these resulting shots...

This shot makes me feel like we left the city and flew down to California!

Brittany is due to bring her bundle of joy into the world in less than 2 weeks now and I cant wait to meet him or her. Congrats Brittany and Garret!

BABY DANIEL

Remember this belly? Well now its a distant memory for Michelle as she has given birth to a beautiful baby boy...

Daniel arrived a week early, much to his parents surprise. Weighing in at 6lbs 15 ounces he is just a bundle of cuteness. Newborns are just fascinating to watch and this little guy was awake and is definitely a squirmer...

He has the longest little fingers in comparison to the rest of his body... soo cute!

Daniel was not enjoying me using the flash, poor little grumpy man

This family is full of love and its just so exciting to see Michelle as a mom, shes a natural!

Congrats again Mike & Michelle, what a year this has been!!!

MICHELLE IS ALMOST A MOM

Well its been quite awhile since I posted. With summer trying to peak through in Calgary Ive been out playing, sans camera. But I'm back at it capturing the magic moments of pregnancy. Michelle and I had a total blast taking pictures tonight around town, wandering down random alleyways and wondering if the storm was going to hit or if we would get home dry. Luck was on our side and we missed the storm and found some amazing spots to shoot.

Enjoy a few teasers of the beautiful Mother-to-be, I cant believe she is due in a months time!

I am in love with this purple wall!!!

A fave shot of the night, you can tell how nasty the sky is in the distance but Michelle was a champ.
Lots of love for the belly and baby Daniel

Fierce alley shot, Michelle totally rocked it.. and look at those skinny little legs

Thanks again Michelle for such an awesome shoot! I had a blast and I cant wait to edit the rest

YOGINI & MOMMA-TO-BE

The second round of pictures is in! I love the way the Lensbaby captures the baby bump and becomes the sole focus of the photograph. I am also a huge personal fan of the belly button pop as well. Literally cute as a button!

All smiles for the camera!

This is one of my favorites. Its such a personal moment between Mom and baby.

How can you not smile if you look at this picture of Shyla? And did you notice the full Lotus posture?!?! What can't this woman do?

Virabhadrasana B (or Warrior II) in the park. Such a round perfect baby belly.

Two more weeks to go til we get to meet the little guy :)

FIRST MATERNITY SHOOT

I am amazed and inspired by Shyla and the yoga poses she can still do beautifully at 8+ months pregnant. Some may not call this a classic maternity shoot but for my first time I was quite happy to stray away from the classic and focus more on our mutual interests since we did meet in yoga teacher training. Something a little different for everyone to enjoy.

I love the look of anticipation, as if she is almost waiting at the window for the stork to come along with her beautiful bundle of joy!

Those little teeny shoes just make me heart melt (even if they are totally impractical)

Trying out a few different effects, I think this was a little too soft but look at that belly

Shyla just exudes calm and peacefulness, I think this picture really shows her true spirit

Love the balance in tree pose. Such tapas/determination!
